Leading whistleblowing investigations

Next session is 15th April 2026 – or sign up to hear about future sessions or arrange bespoke training for your board

Imagine the scenario… You are a new NED at a financial services firm, out of the blue you receive a letter from a recent ex-employee alleging serious misconduct by the CEO. What is your next move ?

The above scenario is just one of a multitude that can confront the unsuspecting NED. The purpose of this training to equip NEDs with the tools required when a sensitive investigation is called for. The whistleblower, the Board, the CEO, the Heads of HR and Compliance, not to mention regulators and shareholders are likely to be stakeholders in what happens next.

This session is designed for Non Exec Directors of regulated financial services firms who may be called upon to lead a sensitive investigation.

The training will start with a roundtable discussion, led by the Employment Team at Travers, where the legal landscape associated with whistleblowing and investigations will be explored.

The bulk of the training will comprise a mock scenario where the various issues will be teased out through active participation of the participants.

This session will be delivered by experts from the financial regulation and employment teams at leading law firm Travers Smith.
