We believe NEDs are uniquely positioned to contribute to the success of the industry through their experience, insight and challenge. NEDs in FS exists to help make that happen.
We bring people together to share best practice, develop themselves and others, and offer an independent perspective to government and regulators.
NEDs in FS is an independent membership organisation for Non-Executive Directors and Chairs in regulated financial services firms in the UK. We have over 600 experienced board members in our network which is growing every day.
Our monthly face-to-face NEDs in FS Forums have been the backbone of our activity for over two years. Hosted by a variety of partner firms in London we bring together 25-50 members to discuss a current issue with an expert panel and continue the conversation over a glass of wine. We also have events in Edinburgh and Manchester, and a number of specialist sector focus groups. We are regularly joined by guests from the FCA and other governmental bodies.
In response to feedback from our members, we offer specialist half day training courses in partnership with expert lawyers and consultants. We also host a jobs board to help our community share new NED appointments and relevant advisory or consulting opportunities.
NEDs in FS was launched by Ben Blackett-Ord and Polly Barton in December 2023. Ben is an ex-regulator who founded and led the international regulatory consultancy Bovill for over 20 years. Polly is a specialist in marketing and professional services, and worked with Ben at Bovill.
